Home visit are mainly for housebound elderly patients who cannot attend surgery due to their illness.

Whenever possible please attend the surgery as this saves valuable time. Patients who think they may require a home visit should telephone whenever possible before 10:00.

A telephone appointment will be made with the on call doctor to determine when and if the visit should be made. Any calls for an emergency home visit (eg. chest pain) will be put through to a doctor immediately.

Please remember that home visits are arranged after consulting with the doctor and it is at doctor’s discretion whether he feels a home visit is warranted.

If you are advised to attend the surgery, the doctor will give you a rough estimated time to attend for your appointment.
